The future does not look too good. The world might not have enough resources to go on with current human consumption.
I guess we can do our part, so please do not waste electricity, water, etc. Do not use plastic bag if possible (the green bag sold at Coles for $1 is excellent. My parents even bring back a few to Indonesia).

I just got my mandarin language certificate III in my mailbox. I am now a certified mandarin speaker!! Hahahaha… or should I say 哈哈哈.

The return of my camera

Saturday, March 19th, 2005

I’m so glad that today I got my camera back. My parents lost it when they went out with a friend of theirs. I didn’t feel too bad with the lost of the camera itself, but I didn’t like watching my parents getting upset about losing it.

Someone from my apartment building must have found it and returned it to the security guard. Good thing there’s a picture of me in the camera, so the security guard recognised me (I am famous after all). Thankfully the camera is not lost somewhere far away (my parents went to Berowra and The Entrance on that day).

God must have worked miracle in someone’s heart (the camera is lost 3 weeks ago). So I am thankful to God and that person who found it. All in all I’ve had some good experience with Australian/Sydneysider’s honesty.

Do you have any good/bad experience like this?

Vertigo

I want this table aptly named Vertigo. Well I’m sure the price will be exorbitant. At least I want to see this in person.

Laughter is the best medicine after all

Tuesday, March 8th, 2005

This news is a scientific confirmation of what has been common sense. Laughter is better for your health than stress.

I always wonder why some people prefer horror movies.

Injustice against women

Friday, March 4th, 2005

In this age, some nations still have appaling laws against women. Sad.

Parents’ visit

Thursday, March 3rd, 2005

My parents came to visit me for a month (they have flown back last Thursday and Tuesday). I wanted to take at least a week off from work, but unfortunately work is at busy/crucial stage. So it was a hectic month with work, spending time with parents and some church work (just moved to a new building).

I guess I am not good with time management. But my parents’ visit has been really good, since I got to see them at most 2-3 months a year.

I already miss them…

Btw, Qantas is delayed by 4 hours in both the Thursday and Tuesday flights. Dodgy Qantas.

Credit Card hidden costs

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2005

When I first got a credit card, I thought “Cool, as long as I pay on time, there’s no fees plus I got reward points”. Not so, according to this article from smh.

I am not good at economics, but I can understand that everytime we use credit card, the banks get richer. Someone has to pay the money, and mostly it will be us in the form of increased prices for the goods.

I still think credit cards are useful and convenient. But perhaps when it’s non-essential, cash is better.
