Jesus Loves Me

Saturday, August 20th, 2005

While converting our church’s song database to the format that can be used by OpenSong, I came across this old sunday school song. I only knew the first verse and the chorus before. Looking at the 7 verses, they all speak the truth. And what beautiful words they are. (It’s ok to post this song here as it’s in the Public Domain. Theoretically you shouldn’t put copyright-protected lyrics on to the internet/blog)

Chorus 1
Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
The Bible tells me so

Verse 1
Jesus loves me this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak but He is strong

Verse 2
Jesus loves me when I’m good
When I do the things I should
Jesus loves me when I’m bad
Though it makes Him very sad

Verse 3
Jesus loves me loves me still
Tho’ I’m very weak and ill
That I might from sin be free
Bled and died upon the tree

Verse 4
Jesus loves me he who died
Heaven’s gate to open wide
He will wash away my sin
Let His little child come in

Verse 5
Jesus loves me He will stay
Close beside me all the way
Thou hast bled and died for me
I will henceforth live for Thee

Verse 6
Jesus loves the children dear
Children far away or near
They are safe when in His care
Ev’ry day and ev’rywhere

Verse 7
Jesus take this heart of mine
Make it pure and wholly Thine
Thou has bled and died for me
I will henceforth live for Thee

Comment woe

Wednesday, August 10th, 2005

Some of you who have commented on this blog might know that the comments did not appear on the page right away. It’s put on hold to be moderated. This is because of the large number of spam comments I got. These spam comments are generated by programs doing nothing other than putting comments on people’s blog (perhaps in order to increase their Google rank).

Last week I opened the comment a bit, so that all of you faithful commentors (is there such a word?) might get the satisfaction that your comments are promptly displayed on the webpage with all its HTML glory. And what do I get? Close to 800 spams in just a few days!

So I did a bit of googling, and found Spam Karma, a plug-in for this blogging tool (Wordpress). So, now, with the spam filter installed, hopefully all will be well. Perhaps you can help me by testing this plug-in a bit. Just leave a comment, and see if yours come up ok straightaway. Anything will do. Cheers.

Google Ads

Thursday, August 4th, 2005

Well, if you happen to notice, I just add Google ads to this blog. This is located on the bottom of navigation (right-bottom with my current layout). I’m not expecting to get lots of money (or even any substantial money at all), this is just for fun, to see if there will be any clicks at all.

So, if you are feeling generous, click the links once or twice, maybe I can buy paper clips or something :)
If you run a high-traffic blog, and want to put Google ads to your blog to get a few bucks, just look at the above link. It’s quite easy, really. I can help as well if you need to.

The Mighty Mouse!

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2005

Apple finally succumbed to common sense and created a more-than-1-button mouse :) It’s called Mighty Mouse. Looks good.

And they really license the trademark from the cartoon superhero The Mighty Mouse. Ahhh I still remember watching the cartoon on TV and reading the comic.
