Firefox 2

Friday, October 27th, 2006

Mozilla Firefox just released version 2 of their web browser. I have been using Firefox as my main browser for a couple of years, and have been really happy that I don’t use Internet Explorer anymore. I was at first a bit hesitant about upgrading, preferring to wait a bit to see if there are any major bugs (I was too early in upgrading iTunes, and must say the latest version is quite slow).

However, glad I tried upgrading the one in my work PC. The new version is very very fast. Tabs open quickly, and pages load in no time at all (well my ADSL2 connection help as well :)). But usually upgrades mean the product has LOTS more features and will be slower. Not in this case. Good on you Firefox.

Scrybe

Scrybe looked like an interesting web application for managing to-do list, bookmarks etc. The offline feature (if working well) can be the killer feature. Have a look at the video demonstration. CNet has a blog entry about it.
